‘Attack On Titan’ Chapter 87 Recap, Summary: Owl’s Identity Revealed; Eren Accessed Grisha’s Memory; Why Are Eren, Mikasa Imprisoned? [Spoilers]

"Attack on Titan" Chapter 87 revealed the identity of the Owl who has been giving insights to the Eldian Restoration Movement. The latest chapter also highlighted how Eldian people are being transformed into Titans in the past. Additionally, Eren finally uncovered memories of his father Dr. Grisha Yeager.

"Attack on Titan" Chapter 87 saw Owl revealed himself as one of the officers working for the Marley government. When Grisha realized that Officer Kruger is the same officer who fed his sister to dogs in the past, Grisha did his best to convince the man not to feed him to other Titans. However, Officer Kruger bears deep grudges against Eldian people so he was determined to have fun while watching Titans feed on Grisha.

"Attack on Titan" Chapter 87 then showed Owl pushing Officer Kruger down the pit to be eaten by Titans. Grisha was relieved to be saved from a supposed death but he was also surprised to finally meet Owl and discover that he worked for Marley government. The chapter then ended with Owl telling Grisha how to use Titan powers but the revelation will still be continued on "Attack on Titan" Chapter 88.

Meanwhile, Eren woke up in a prison cell as he and Mikasa serve their sentence for breaking the military regulations on "Attack on Titan" Chapter 87. Eren thought he had been dreaming for a long while until he realized that those were not dreams but memories from Grisha's past. It can be recalled that Eren was the Titan who devoured his father Grisha, giving him access to Grisha's memories and abilities.

That being said, Eren finally understood that what he had been dreaming were actually realities that happened in Grisha's life. Before Grisha was saved by Owl, it was revealed on "Attack on Titan" Chapter 87 that the Eldian prisoners are being turned into Titans using a serum. Grisha was not turned into Titan yet because Officer Kruger preferred to see him being devoured by Titan which did not happen because of Owl.

"Attack on Titan" Chapter 87 also saw Eren remembering Daina Fritz, Grisha's wife and mother of Zeke, who turned into a Titan and promised Grisha that he will find him. Eren also found out that Zeke betrayed his parents and the Eldian Restoration Movement in exchange of his grandparents' safety. It remains to be seen whether Eren will tell everyone of what he had learned or will he plan to make a move by his own to protect his people.
