‘Y: The Last Man’ TV By FX Signs Up ‘Heroes,’ ‘American Gods’ Producer? Could Danai Gurira Be Agent 355?

New FX series "Y: The Last Man" signed up "Heroes" and "American Gods" producer Michael Green. The TV adaptation by FX is based on "Y: The Last Man" comic book series from author Brian K. Vaughan.

As The Hollywood Reporter cites, the new "Y: The Last Man" showrunner is no newcomer to producing for TV. Michael Green was producer for "Heroes," "Smallville" and "American Gods." The "Y: The Last Man" showrunner was also onboard for "Green Lantern" and "American Gods" as co-writer.

"Y: The Last Man" follows the adventures of Yorick Brown and his pet monkey Ampersand. Yorick Brown is a survivor of a global catastrophe, which killed off all humans and creatures that possessed the Y chromosome.

As "Y: The Last Man," Yorick Brown dedicates all efforts to finding the cause and the cure to the plague. Among the puzzles Yorick Brown tries to crack is how he, of all the men in the world, survived the plague.

Teaming up with Yorick Brown are Secret Agent 355 and Dr. Allison Mann. Together Yorick Brown, Agent 355 and Dr. Allison Mann, not only try to find the truth about the plague but also Yorick's girlfriend Beth DeVille.

Comics Alliance proposed that "Teen Wolf" star Dylan O'Brien could play Yorick Brown. Interestingly, the media outlet proposed that Danai Gurira, who plays "The Walking Dead" fan favorite, as Agent 355 in "Y: The Last Man."

Agent 355 is a mysterious character assigned to protect Yorick Brown. None of the other characters in "Y: The Last Man" knows the real name of Agent 355 (except for Yorick Brown). Some believe that Agent 355 is partly responsible for the plague which turned Yorick Brown into The Last Man.

If Danai Gurira gets to play Agent 355, "The Walking Dead" star will be on familiar ground. Danai Gurira is a katana expert, who is not too shabby with firearms as Michonne in "The Walking Dead." Danai Gurira will wield firearms and batons as Agent 355.
