‘Lucifer’ Season 2, Episode 9 Spoilers, News & Update: Lucifer-Chloe Romance Possible? Charlotte Sending The Devil Back To Heaven

Next week's episode of "Lucifer" Season 2 will showcase the fallen angel doing what it takes to protect the place he considers as his true home -- Earth. Lucifer's (Tom Ellis) goal, however, will be met with hurdles and setbacks, which will mostly come from his mother, Charlotte (Tricia Helfer).

Episode nine titled "Homewrecker" will showcase Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) and Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) following Charlotte as she "comes up with a plan to upset Lucifer enough to want to leave earth and go back to Heaven," SpoilerTV reported. The upcoming episode of "Lucifer" Season 2 will also feature Lucifer and Chloe (Lauren German) trying to find the person who killed the building owner where Lucifer's nightclub, Lux, is located.

The new owner of the building wants to evict Lucifer from his place and demolish the structure. Lucifer, as expected, will go "to great lengths to protect his home, and is entirely shocked when Chloe is supportive of him."

The "Homewrecker" episode of "Lucifer" Season 2 airs on Monday, Nov. 21 at 9:01-10:00 PM ET/PT on Fox. Watch the promo below.

The promo for next week's "Lucifer" episode strongly hints of a serious family drama. It looks like Charlotte is the biggest threat in Lucifer's decision to stay in Earth and protect humans.

In episode eight of "Lucifer" Season 2 titled "Trip to Stabby Town," Lucifer realized that he feels connected to Earth because it's the only place where he feels respected. Charlotte doesn't like this and she seems to be relentless in making Lucifer leave Earth. She could enact plans to force her son to do what she wants.

The recent "Lucifer" episode also showcased the fallen angel forming a special bond with the LAPD forensic scientist, Ella (Aimee Garcia), over the search for Uriel's (Michael Imperioli) blade. Chloe appears jealous of the two's bond and acted distant, but she relaxed when Lucifer told her that he isn't planning on having sex with Ella.

Is Chloe's apparent jealousy a sign that a romance between her and Lucifer is brewing? It remains to be seen in future episodes.

Ellis told BuddyTV earlier this month that Lucifer regrets telling Dr. Linda (Rachael Harris) his true identity, which is one of the most exposing and emotional moments in his life. Linda isn't in a good place after learning Lucifer's secret. Maze, however, will help bring down the divide between the two.
