‘Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered’ News: Dataminer Finds Hidden Weapons, Possible Microtransactions?

After almost two weeks since the release of "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered," a dataminer uncovered hidden weapons from deep within the game's codes, hinting at possible microtransactions being implemented in the future.

According to IGN, a reddit user and dataminer named Tails found a number of unused content while snooping through the game's data file. Some weapons discovered hidden in the game's data files are weapons found in other "Call of Duty" franchise games, while another hidden file uncovered is a "weapons dealer" file like that found in "Call of Duty: Black Ops III."

These uncovered files in "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered" are more likely known as microtransaction, a feature where players can buy in-game equipment and weapons using real money.

One weapon, however, that the reddit user found that has never appeared in any "Call of Duty" game is the Kamchatka automatic shotgun, which packs considerably strong firepower compared to other weapons in the game based from a test video. Another weapon that did not make it to the final game is the shovel melee from "Call of Duty: Black Ops III," which could be a hint that the developer might have decided on adding more melee weapons in the game.

Whether these weapons were junked by Raven Software or hints toward future developments of "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered" is unknown. But according to a report by Egmnow, the term "loot" was attached to some of the hidden weapons, hinting that the items were being considered as drops in the game.

Also, the possibility of adding microtransactions into "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered" is still on the table.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remastered" comes as an extra game in the legacy and legacy pro edition of "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare." It is a remastered version of the original "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" with high definition and next-gen textures that bring new generation experience to the game.
