'The Big Bang Story' Star Jim Parsons Bags Lead Role In 'Brother Orange'

Climbing up the ladder of stardom, "The Big Bang Theory" star Jim Parsons makes a big move to up his career as a big screen actor. Parsons bagged the lead role in "Brother Orange", a film adapted from a true story about a strange friendship between two men of different nationalities.

Jim Parsons will play the part of Matt Stopera, the American senior editor at a media website in New York. "Brother Orange" will tell Matt's story when he wrote an article about a Chinese man whose photos appear on his iCloud feed. Matt then concluded that his phone has somehow been taken overseas and been sold in China by the thief who did not deactivate the iCloud data storage.

After Matt lost his phone to a pickpocket in NY, he simply bought a new one. Later on, he noticed in his iCloud feed photos of the Chinese man who is fond of taking photos of himself with orange trees, thus the name "Brother Orange".

To Matt's surprise, his article went viral and was read by millions of Chinese people who helped him locate the Chinese man. Matt was welcomed to his home and they became friends.

This is not the first time Jim Parsons will appear on the big screen. Parsons has won four Emmy Awards. He starred in Muppets, Visions, and Zach Braff's Garden State and Wish I Was Here.

Parsons latest film is Hidden Figures to be released on Dec 25, 2016, in the US. Hidden Figures shows the behind-the-scenes story of NASA in the 1960s.

With his booming career on the big screen, there are speculations going around that Parsons will be leaving "The Big Bang Theory". "TBBT" is currently airing its tenth season on the CBS network.

Reports have it that Parsons agreed to take part if the series will continue its eleventh installment. We are still awaiting CBS confirmation regarding the matter.
