"Luke Cage" season 2 release date news are getting more exciting by the day. Apart from the updates, theories, predictions and possible spoilers for the upcoming run are making the wait more bearable for waiting fans.

"Luke Cage" has been recently hailed as Marvel's most popular streaming show of the year, University Herald noted. This recent announcement has made all fans of the show look forward to what's in store for "Luke Cage" season 2.

But the question that every fan has in mind would be, when will "Luke Cage" season 2 premiere on Netflix? Previous rumors suggested that a 2017 release could be underway, however, another report debunked this claim and hinted that fans might have to wait a lot longer for the new season.

Just how long? Mic.com claimed that fans may have to wait until 2019 until "Luke Cage" season 2 airs. As the report claimed, Marvel and Netflix have already lined-up the new shows they will be releasing in the next two years. Until these new shows are done with season 1 could they proceed with new seasons for these shows.

If there's any consolation, fans will still get to see Luke Cage when "The Defenders" premieres on Netflix next year. For the meantime, fans will just have to wait what will happen to Luke Cage and the possibilities season 1 has left behind.

In a Reddit forum, fans have started to share what they would love to see in "Luke Cage" season 2. Majority of the fans certainly think going the "Heroes for Hire" direction would be a the best option, while another fan suggested that a "Luke Cage" and "Iron Fist" merge could be a good idea.
