‘Scorpion’ Season 3 Spoilers: CBS Orders Extra Episode! What To Expect From Episode 9 [Promo]

It appears that CBS knows how much fans are into "Scorpion." An extra episode was ordered by the network recently for Season 3.

"Scorpion" Season 3 was initially slated to run for 24 episodes but the new order puts the current season to a whopping 25-episode run, SpoilerTV reported. Season 1 of "Scorpion" had 22 episodes and Season 2 had a run of 24 episodes.

According to CarterMatt, there aren't many shows that are going beyond the 24-episode mark per season at the moment. Some of the programs that hit 24 episodes are "The Big Bang Theory" and "NCIS," with "Grey's Anatomy" going beyond the typical 24-episode per season in the past.

"Scorpion" can handle its 25-episode Season 3 well because of its ensemble cast. An ensemble cast allows programs to distribute airtime to other cast members instead of focusing on just one character and film him/her every single hour of every day. CarterMatt also speculated that the "Scorpion" team works "like clockwork behind the scenes," which is a must due to the limitations a network show has.

Next week's "Scorpion" Season 3 episode titled "Mother Load" showcases the return of Veronica (Lea Thompson) as Paige's (Katharine McPhee) estranged mother, Parent Herald previously reported. Veronica, a known grifter or con artist, contacts Team Scorpion after "she accidentally uncovers a forgotten nuclear reactor on the verge of exploding."

Veronica will also meddle in Paige's love triangle dilemma with Walter (Elyes Gabel) and Tim (Scott Porter). Apparently, Veronica is on Team Walter and she will advise him on how to court Paige.

Despite Walter and Tim's romantic rivalry, last week's "Scorpion" episode showed that the two could have a bromance if given the chance. The two men worked together on a case -- and succeeded -- in episode eight.

Tim can help Walter adapt to what he seeks -- a normal life. The duo also has the same belief in the greater good. As of late, Paige is dating Tim but the latter could help Walter develop into the man that Paige deserves - that is, if the two men become friends.
