Will Alan Moore’s ‘Watchmen’ Characters Join Video Game 'Injustice 2'?

Will Alan Moore's "Watchmen" join the sequel of the 2013 fighting video game, "Injustice: Gods Among Us" which is scheduled for release next year? This was the latest question that needs an answer from game enthusiasts who are waiting for the release of "Injustice 2," the game being developed by NetherRealm Studios.

Watchmen on "Injustice 2"

The question was posted by "Injustice 2" creative director Ed Boon, one of the people behind Mortal Kombat. In his recent tweet, Boon asked whether players would want to see Alan Moore's Watchmen characters to become part of the upcoming video game, "Injustice 2."

And there seems to be an overwhelming decision from the players who are waiting in line to get their copy of "Injustice 2." In the latest result of the poll created by Boon, almost three out of four players would like to see Watchmen characters join the likes of Aquaman, Batman, Flash, Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman and of course, Superman.

Though Boon hasn't announced as to when the poll will end, with the consistency of the result, it looks like the game developer might soon start to find its way to the drawing table and create the six main characters of Watchmen. Who among them will join "Injustice 2" will still be up for debate.

Or perhaps the game developers already knew what would be the outcome and hence have already created prototypes of these characters? It could be an interesting twist how Rorschach, The Comedian, Doctor Manhattan, Nite Owl, Ozymandias and Silk Spectre would fare against the strongest superheroes known to men.

Other "Injustice 2" Characters

At any rate, "Injustice 2" has at least six confirmed characters from "Injustice: Gods Among Us" as mentioned earlier. Currently, there are five known characters to join "Injustice 2"; two of the most recent characters were revealed by GameSpot.com. First is the leader of the Red Lantern Corp, Atrocitus, who also prophesized the Blackest Night event. The Blue Beetle is said to have a power from an alien item scarab carved deep within his spines.

Then there's the sharpshooting Deadshot who is Harley's teammate on Suicide Squad. Another villain who showed up in "The Flash" comics, Gorilla Grodd will make his way on "Injustice 2." Finally, Superman's cousin, Supergirl will power her way to "Injustice 2."
