'Star Wars Episode 8' Leaks, Trailer Release Date: Rey Has Regal Origins? Obi-wan Kenobi Returns As Her Grandfather?

"Star Wars Episode 8" followers are perhaps feasting as leaks proliferate online. A few of the latest "Star Wars Episode 8" leaks suggest that Rey (Daisy Ridley) might be of royal blood and the return of Obi-wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) may be connected to her origins.

Topping the "Star Wars Episode 8" leaks is Daisy Ridley's Rey possibly being a descendant of one perished royal family. As reported by Movie Pilot, the central character's parents might be from the upper class of another planet and for her own protection, she was left on the planet of Jakku despite possible destitution.

Perhaps, Daisy Ridley's character could be left on the desert planet after the First Order wiped out her monarch family. Rey is speculated have been saved by the royal guards and left her in Jakku where she is far away from the threats of the Galactic Empire. This theory was laid out by one Reddit user under the handle The_Playboy. While the Jakku scavenger is speculated to be of royal blood, no other related details, like the parents' names, were stated. "Star Wars Episode 8" leaks also suggest that more of Rey's ancestry can be the return of Ewan McGregor's Obi-wan Kenobi. "Star Wars Episode 8" is expected to tackle the origins of Rey, and fans speculate that it may be time for Ewan McGregor's Obi-wan Kenobi to come back since rumors have it that she is his granddaughter.

Movie Web reports that a spin-off centered on Obi-wan Kenobi is not happening just yet because he may be a part of "Star Wars Episode 8" and Ewan McGregor can even be included in "Star Wars Episode 9." Entertainment Weekly's Anthony Breznican, who interviewed Rebel Force Radio, overheard Ewan McGregor to be returning and he believes Obi-wan Kenobi is related to Daisy Ridley's Rey.

"I've already written that I think that Rey has some kind of connection to him - family connection," Anthony Breznican said. "So if that's the case, maybe we see a part of that play out in the future Obi-Wan Kenobi movie."

"Star Wars Episode 8" release date is rumored to be sometime around late 2017. It's first trailer, meanwhile, is said to be released early next year.
