iPad Pro 12.9 And 10.9 News & Updates: New iPad Models Will Be Thicker, Bezel-less And Homekey-less?

Insider reports are spreading about the upcoming iPad models from Apple, the iPad Pro 10.9 and 12.9 which are rumored to be bezel-less. To compensate for the removal of the bezels, these new iPads will be thicker. Screen real-estate will also be increased by the removal of the home key.

If all the rumors are proven to be true, then it would be like a makeover of the original iPad design. Some features of Apple products have been iconic to their product lineup, where the most prominent of these features is the home key.

According to Phone Arena, the home key has been one of the most distinctive features of Apple. It is what has made Apple distinguishable from all other tablets and phones, mainly from Android-based devices.

The bezel-less design, however, has already been something that Android devices have ventured into. Samsung has perhaps been the most popular with this design with their Edge series for phones. If Apple iPads will follow through with this design it will be among the first amount tablets.

The thickness battle of tablets has been around for a while but Apple seems to retreat in this department. Perhaps the improvement in reducing the bezel and removing the home key has a price to pay. That price would likely be paid in the thickness which in turn could also add extra weight to the iPad.

With all these changes in store for the upcoming iPads, many fans of Apple may be wondering about the headphone jack. The controversy of the iPhone 7 with its lack of the said port may carry over to the tablet. Surely the size can't be used as an excuse this time as it had been with the iPhone.

There has still been no word on the release of the new iPads, so it is best to take this news with a grain of salt. There could still be more changes to the device as it is still in production.
