‘Star Wars Episode 9’ Release Date & Spoilers: Luke Skywalker Will Die? Film Moved To 2019?

As the anticipated untitled movie "Star Wars Episode 9" marks the end of the series trilogy, fans are also anxious to know if the franchise will also put an end to a major character. Apparently, reports point to the possibility of Luke Skywalker's demise.

The title for the upcoming installment "Star Wars Episode 9" has not been disclosed. Fans do not seem to care much about the title as the previous installment "Star Wars Episode 8" did not get a different title as well. However, fans are now anxious to know if "Star Wars Episode 9" will feature the death of its major character, Luke Skywalker.

The second installment, "Star Wars Episode 8" is yet to be released next year, where the main plot revolves around Rey (played by Daisy Ridley) and her pursuit of becoming a Jedi. Rey will acquire training from Luke Skywalker (played by Mark Hamill), who will help her fulfill her purpose of being a good Jedi. The movie will feature how Rey discovers more about the Force and how she can benefit from using it.

For the anticipated "Star Wars Episode 9," the movie is believed to focus on Luke Skywalker. Reports claim that the installment will most likely feature the demise of Luke as he would suffer the guilt on the fact that Kylo Ren has shifted to the dark side. Apparently, Luke sees himself a big failure for what has happened to Kylo Ren, and this pain would eventually be the cause of his death.

Another possible reason for Luke's death is also linked with Kylo Ren. Considering Kylo Ren has killed his own father, Han Solo, it is highly speculated that he could also do the same with Luke. However, reports also say that Rey can possibly intervene for Luke and take down Kylo Ren, Movie News Guide reported.

Meanwhile, "Star Wars Episode 9" is reportedly set to start production in April 2017. According to Screenrant, Project Casting believes that the new film will begin filming in spring next year at Pinewood Studios UK. The publication predicted that "Star Wars Episode 9" can have a potential 2019 release date should filming begins next year.
