‘Sherlock’ Season 4 News & Updates: Season Finale Hits Big! Learn Why! [SPOILERS]

BBC’s “Sherlock” is one of the most anticipated TV series especially after “The Abominable Bride” special episode. Now, fans are getting a big season 4 finale.

It can be recalled that the first season of “Sherlock” from BBC aired in 2010. Since then, the succeeding season was made approximately two years apart. Fortunately, the upcoming new season will end big in theaters.

Yes, fans read that right. The all-time favorite Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman) will hit the theaters soon with the third and final episode.

The episode titled “The Final Problem” is scheduled to hit the U.S. theaters on Jan, 16 and 18. The screening, together with the BBC Worldwide North America and Fathom Events, will be staged in almost 350 cinemas all throughout the country.

However, this isn’t the only surprise the fans will be having in 2017. Aside from the cinema screenings, viewers will also get an extra 15-minute feature on the series.

So, will this be the end for “Sherlock?” As Benedict Cumberbatch puts it, “this could be the end of an era,” Entertainment Weekly reports.

Nonetheless, it can still go on forever. Looking at the pattern of the production, “Sherlock” season 4 can be just another season and fans could just have to wait longer for a new season. This is the case especially now that Cumberbatch had already signed with Marvel with “Doctor Strange.”

However, there is still no official statement whether the show will be nearing its end. However, Steven Moffat said that it’s a possibility that this will be the show’s last season.

For now, Moffat assures the fans that “all roads lead back to Baker Street” and it will always be part of their home. For “Sherlock” season 4, Holmes and Watson will have to face their past in this season, E! News reports.

Episode 1 of season 4 of “Sherlock” will air on Jan. 1, titled “The Six Thatchers.” Catch the season premiere on BBC.
