How A Parenting App Can Help Parents Adjust Their Children's Screen Time

Children these days are more interested in iPads than playing outside. Parents are grappling with the
issue of limiting their use of mobile devices. The new generation is getting addicted to these devices
in a quick span of time.

To tackle this issue, Australian parents are seeking help from a federal government technology.
The free app is a guide on screen time and the content that children should watch, it also advise
parents on their children's meals in terms of their nutritional value.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Australian Federal Education Minister Simon Birmingham is now planning to redesign the app for the school holidays. The reformulated app will provide nine articles, which will help parents to suggest activities for children during the summer holidays.

It will also enable parents to help their dyslexic children in reading. Senator Birmingham told The Courier-Mail that parents want to regulate their children's time spent on the mobile devices and are seeking help from the App.

It is evident from the data collected that even young parents, who themselves have used modern technology, are keen to put the right amount of technology in their children's lives. They are also looking for the best ways that can benefit them.

Birmingham also shared his personal experience, saying his daughters have learned a lot from literacy and numeracy apps. But he also found it equally important to let them know when to stop using their iPads and engage in other aspects of their daily routines.

A mother from Brisbane, Lucy Phillips, told that she limited the screen time of her 3-year-old daughter Annabelle. She allows her an hour to spend on the iPad while she is busy with her daily chores like cooking. She expressed that it's difficult to assume how much time children should spend on these devices but a planned strategy could help.
