HGTV 'Flip Or Flop' Couple Tarek & Christina El Moussa's 7-Year Marriage Flops - Will Split End Show?

The couple behind HGTV's home renovation series "Flip or Flop" is separating. Tarek and Christina El Moussa, who were married for seven years, have announced their split as reports of a domestic altercation that happened six months prior also surfaced.

Their separation will affect their young children, Taylor, 6, and Brayden, 15 months, but the El Moussas have stated they will be committed to co-parenting, E! Online reports. The fate of their popular show hangs in the balance. Will "Flip or Flop" also end as their marriage ends?

Tarek and Christina El Moussa were in marriage counselling before they decided to separate. It was revealed that the police questioned the couple in May in response to a report of a "suicidal male with a gun." The El Moussas confirmed that the incident did take place, which is why they decided to get into counselling.

But according to People, the problems in their marriage run deeper as Tarek and Christina El Moussa had to weather through a cancer diagnosis, fertility issues, miscarriage and professional stress. The couple were also subjected to criticisms because of their HGTV show and working together on "Flip and Flop" could have taken a toll on their marriage.

Sources also told People in a separate interview that Tarek and Christina El Moussa were "wildly incompatible." They couldn't handle the popularity of their show better.

Tarek and Christina El Moussa stressed that despite their split, they still plan to continue with "Flip or Flop." In the show, Tarek and Christina pick out properties they would buy for a lower value and renovate the house and lot to sell for a bigger profit.

The show is already on its seventh season on HGTV. The network has released a statement saying that it plans to continue airing "Flip or Flop" and remaining production will go on as scheduled.
