Stranger Found In The Living Room Of A Home Holding Toddler, Father Awakened By Child's Cries; Man Says He Was Extremely Drunk

A father was awakened due to the cries of his toddler and when he went to check on what the problem was, he was surprised to see a stranger holding his child. The man said that he was extremely drunk and could only remember playing with a "midget," in reference to the child.

The child was not identified as well as the father but police said that the father went to check on his two-year-old daughter after hearing her sobs at around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday at their home in Arizona. The little girl was being held on the lap of the stranger, who was later identified as Oren Aharon Cohen.

Mirror reported that 34-year-old Cohen talked about the midget he was playing with and it matched the descriptions of the female child. He has been charged with aggravated assault, second-degree burglary and kidnapping.

Cohen denied that he engaged in any sexual acts with the toddler and broke down in tears saying that he would never harm a child. Cohen also told investigators that he has been drinking with a friend who lives in the same apartment complex.

Accordingly, Cohen told the father of the child, "I'm your friend." Cohen then tossed the child on the couch. The father prevented Cohen from leaving their apartment and his wife called 911. The mother said that her husband was fighting with a burglar, The Washington Post reported.

When police officials came, they reportedly used a stun gun to detain Cohen as he resisted commands and did not oblige. The parents of the child noted that they never saw Cohen and do not personally know him.

Cohen remains in custody. He is being held in a county jail on a $250,000 bond. He will be appearing in court for his preliminary hearing on Thursday, Dec. 27.
