Steam Winter Sale 2016 Date Confirmed By PayPal, Again!

Gamers rejoice as the biggest event of the year has been confirmed yet again by PayPal. Steam's Winter Sale 2016 kicks off on Dec. 22, as revealed by the UK branch of PayPal.

A massive chunk of Steam's catalogue will be heavily discounted for two weeks. Players will definitely need deep pockets to avail of this year's fantastic deals.

The same as what PayPal did for Steam's Summer Sale, they again stepped up and announced the opening date for the Winter Sale 2016. Here's the tweet:

Steam's Winter Sale typically begins around 1 p.m. ET. The Winter Sale 2016 opens on the same day voting on Valve begins. According to Polygon, each day until the 29th of December, visitors will have 24 hours to vote on a new category and winners will be announced on New Year's Eve. "The Villain Most in Need of a Hug Award" is this year's first category. Among the nominees are "Dead by Daylight," "Borderlands 2," "Far Cry 3," "Far Cry 4," and "Portal 2."

SlashGear noted that the opening for the Winter Sale 2016 has been revealed, but when the sale will end has not yet be confirmed by Steam. However, fans should expect it to last for a few days, probably until January.

Just about over a month ago, Steam opened its annual Autumn Sale where great price drops on games like "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," "Dark Souls," "Life is Strange," and "Civilization 6" were available to customers.

Are you excited for this year's annual Winter Sale on Steam?
