Samsung Galaxy S8 News & Updates: South Korean Company to Launch Flagship Device in April 2017?

After the tragedy that has befallen the tech giant, it needs to regain the trust of its customers and make sure their new flagship phone is a head-turner. With many rumors circulating the web, it has been revealed that the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S8 will make its debut in April.

Samsung has always rolled out their Galaxy series during the Mobile World Congress which is held From February to March in Barcelona. Next year's event will begin on Feb. 27. However, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will not make its appearance to the said event, unlike its predecessors.

The South Korean firm, Samsung, might wait until April 2017 to unveil its latest flagship device during a special event in New York. This reportedly delayed launch is because Samsung needs to "recover confidence from consumers," according to Android Central.

But it seems Samsung is going to back to its roots since the Samsung Galaxy S4 was unveiled in NYC event a few years back. Also, price-wise, Samsung Galaxy S8 might be 20% higher compared with the S7, per 9to5Google.

This will be Samsung's first flagship phone in over a year since the Note 7 no longer exists, due to the horrific disaster of the phone. And to steer away from any problems with its future devices, the South Korean company might switch battery providers. Samsung is planning on obtaining batteries from LG Chem in 2017, as Reuters reported. But it wasn't confirmed if the batteries will in fact be used for the Samsung Galaxy S8.

LG Chem currently supplies batteries not only for its own units but also for Apple's iPhone. So, there is a "90% chance of a deal being struck," as an industry official stated.

Samsung has neither confirmed nor denied any of the reports that have surfaced regarding the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S8. But we will keep you updated for further information.
