‘Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood' Launch Date Revealed, Red Mage Confirmed!

Square Enix has been busy last weekend during the "Final Fantasy XIV" Fan Fest where the game developer officially announced that "Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood" will be launched on June 20, 2017. Also, the location and other content plans have been revealed by the game's creative team.

The two-day event kicked off with a keynote from Naoki Yoshida, the project's director. Among the specifics that were revealed during the event is that "Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood" will take place in Ala Mhigo. Players will face off against Zenos, the game's main antagonist.

According to GameRant, the major announcement for "Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood" would have been the new classes which will be included in the game. Red Mage, the fan favorite going back to the first "Final Fantasy" RPG, will be playable again.

This hybrid class has a starting level of 50 and is not associated with other classes. The Red Mage class is able to deal with massive damage using "Chainspell" and melee attacks, as detailed by iTechPost. Another class will be revealed too soon as teased by Naoki Yoshida.

"Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood" will have new areas as well and a "full standalone game's worth of content," as reported by GameSpot. New Primals, high-end raids, dungeons and a 4th residential area will also be added.

Also, a few more patches will be released by Square Enix prior to "Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood" launch. Patch 3.5 concluded the events of "Heavensward" and begins the events of "Stormblood." It will be released into 2 parts. The first one is a January 2017 release, while the second one will be in March 2017.

"Final Fantasy XIV" is currently playable on PS4, PC, and PS3. The MMO's second massive expansion, "Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood," will be fully available on June 20, 2017, for PS4 and PC.
