‘Pokemon GO’ Updates: iOS and Android Versions 1.21.0 & 0.51.0 Now Available; Fixes Bugs, But No Holiday Bonuses?

Updates for the mobile game "Pokemon GO" has recently been rolled out by Niantic for both iOS and Android devices, dubbed 1.21.0 and 0.51.0 versions. Loyal Pokemon hunters were surely excited about the updates but don't burst your bubble just yet. As it turns out, the predicted holiday bonuses might not be on its way.

Avid "Pokemon GO" players have noticed that Niantic has been releasing updates almost on a weekly basis not. However, this is not one those major game updates, but only a minor one aimed at improving and fixing minimal glitches in the game.

BGR reported that Niantic posted on Facebook that "Pokemon GO" players should not expect any major features for this week's update.

Firstly, the patch notes released by Niantic for the smash hit mobile game "Pokemon GO" includes bug fixes for the extra vibration experienced by players for months now. Before the update was released, there are instances that "Pokemon GO" players would receive a vibration despite there being no Pokemon in the vicinity. This has become bothersome for many.

Last Dec. 10, Niantic tweeted on their official Twitter account that they were aware of the bug causing the "incorrect vibrations." Evidently, the bug has finally been fixed with the "Pokemon GO" 1.21.0 and 0.51.0 versions.

Secondly, according to PhoneArena, the day and night modes of "Pokemon GO" have been updated to more "accurately reflect the Trainer's current time of day," as Niantic wrote. Lastly, minor text fixes have also been added to the update.

The sad news though is that the much-awaited holiday bonuses were not part of the update for "Pokemon GO." Unlike the events for Halloween and Thanksgiving, Niantic held special events and players were able to stash XP and double Stardust bonuses. Both were announced on a Wednesday, per Heavy. But this time, we are only 3 days away from Christmas and there hasn't been any word yet from the game developer.

Regardless, the only Christmas-related patch Niantic released was the Santa hat-wearing Pikachu, which is available until Dec. 29. Will this be the only extent for "Pokemon Go" Christmas event or Niantic has something special up its sleeve?

"Pokemon GO" updates for both iOS and Android, versions 1.21.0 and 0.51.0, are now available for download in the Google Play Store and App Store. Stay tuned for more "Pokemon Go" news and updates.
