Teenager Killed, Raped Due To Adoptive Mother, Boyfriend's Fantasy Remembered As Kind; Birth Parents Attend Memorial For Her

Grace Packer, the teen who was raped and killed in a rape-murder fantasy of her adoptive mother and the latter's boyfriend, was remembered as kind and a friend to the lonely during a memorial set up for her. The birth parents of the teenager attended the memorial and were said to be inconsolable.

Yahoo! News reported Packer was only 14 years old and had a learning disability but friends say that she looked out for the lonely kids. One of the students she befriended was a child with autism. Packer ate lunch with him and she showed patience and kindness towards him.

Packer, however, lived a life of pain. Her birth parents lost custody when she was only three years old. Her adoptive father was sent to prison when she was 10 years old after an indecent assault while her adoptive mother Sara Packer, eventually led her to her demise as she and her boyfriend, Jacob Sullivan, plotted to kill the teen in July. The couple was scheduled to appear in court this Friday for a preliminary hearing on the case.

Grace was originally named Susan Hunsicker after her parents lost custody of her. Sara was a former Northampton County adoption worker and her husband David took in Grace and another sibling under their care. Grace has one more sibling but it was unclear where the child is.

The Packers went on to foster around 30 children as they moved from one place to another for a decade. However, the fostering stopped in 2010 after one of the fostered teens saw photos of David having sex with one foster child.

The first victim of David then admitted that the sexual abuse has been ongoing for three years and that Sara knew about it. It was also found out that Grace was molested over the years. Sara lost her job as an adoption supervisor and David spent five years in prison, Daily Mail reported.

In 2015, Sara lived with Sullivan. Grace was last seen alive on July 4 last year and four days after, Sara watched as Sullivan raped her adopted daughter. The two poisoned Grace and left her to die in the attic. When they came back, Grace was still alive so they strangled and dismembered her as they feared the cops will know about the killing. Sara also lied about the whereabouts of Grace saying that she ran away from home.

The birthmother of Grace, Rose Hunsicker, said in a statement, "All these years, I figured that she was growing up to be a regular teenager. I trusted this woman to take care of something so precious to me." It was unclear why authorities let Grace stay with Sara despite the conviction of her husband David.
