Virginia Mom Makes Painful Choice To Abort Baby At 23 Weeks, Tells All On Facebook -- Learn Her Story!

A woman who was in the 23rd week of her pregnancy decided to publicly admit to a late-term abortion to shut down those who do not believe in women's choices. Lindsey Paradiso, 28, from Virginia, spoke of her heartache and grief about deciding to terminate her pregnancy after doctors told her the unborn child she was carrying has a life-threatening tumor.

Paradiso posted her story on Facebook right after the third presidential debate when then-candidate Donald Trump expressed his hard stance against late-term abortion. According to Buzzfeed, Paradiso's post went viral when Trump's Republican party mates in Virginia proposed to lower the abortion ban to 20-weeks, which will further restrict the law about pregnancy termination.

Paradiso and her husband Matt learned of their daughter, Omara's, condition via an ultrasound at 18 weeks. Doctors, however, wanted to be sure they could save her baby. They thought they could do something until the 27th week, at which time Omara's tumor would be taken out via surgery.

The parents' hopes were dashed, however, when doctors confirmed Omara's condition was inoperable as the tumor has spread to her other vital organs soon after the first ultrasound. In other words, even if the baby survives her birth, her life ahead will be uncertain.

Omara's lymphangioma was determined 99 percent fatal. "We didn't want our baby to die and we most certainly didn't want to kill her," the mom wrote on her personal blog.

The Paradiso family was forced to make a difficult choice to end the pregnancy via late-term abortion. "It was so painful and exhausting but I wanted to deliver my daughter so I could hold her and say goodbye," the mom said.

The family's choice has become the subject of a debate between proponents of pro-life and pro-choice. Her post on Facebook continues to generate responses from both sides. The mom maintains she believes they made the right decision.
