Hilary Duff Opens Up About Co-Parenting With Mike Comrie: 'I'm Divorced And It Sucks'

Hilary Duff got real and opened up about her life as a divorcee in a new magazine feature. The former "Lizzie McGuire" star revealed she struggled about co-parenting with her ex-husband Mike Comrie in the beginning.

Duff, 29, and Comrie, 36, share a 5-year-old son together. The ex-couple, who married in 2010, separated when Luca was only 2-years-old and they got officially divorced in 2016, according to People. They have joint custody of their son.

Duff said she has friends who think it's a relief to be co-parenting with Comrie because she gets regular time-offs from her son when he's with his dad. "[But] I'm divorced and it sucks," Duff said, according to E! Online.

The "Younger" star also admitted she struggled with finding a balance as a working mother and divorcee. Mom guilt was very real for this young mom who started working at 6-years-old for Disney.

The actress said she also used to fret over the fact that she won't have another baby close to Lucas' age. "It sucked when everyone would be like, 'When are you having another?' I'd be like, 'Do you know what's happening right now? I'm not having another," Duff said, in her Redbook interview. The magazine hits newsstands April.

Duff, however, has gotten better at accepting her status as a divorced working single mom over the years. She has gone back to the dating scene and she's currently seeing music producer Matthew Koma, Fox News reported. She's not in hurry to get married a second time again, though.

In January, Duff revealed her relationship with Comrie as a co-parent has never been better. She told Cosmopolitan she and her ex-husband are good friends and there's no one else she would like to co-parent with but him. She knew her life and Comrie's will forever be intertwined because of Luca.
