Beyonce FaceTimes With Houston Fan Who Has Cancer; Teen Succumbs To Disease Days Later

Beyonce granted the wish of a Houston teenager who has cancer by reaching out to the girl via FaceTime. Unfortunately, the teen died four days after the talk with the singer.

Ebony Banks died from cancer on Sunday. Her family did not release any statement regarding the details of the funeral arrangement, while Beyonce or her representatives did not comment as well.

Doctors diagnosed Banks with a rare form of cancer in the summer of 2016. She started to undergo chemotherapy last September. Despite the diagnosis, she tried to attend her classes, as well as the practices of the school's band since she was a member of the group.

Banks attended Alief Hastings High School. She was a senior but spent most of her time at MD Anderson Cancer Center after the diagnosis that she had stage four cancer. The school district held a special early graduation for her at the hospital.

As a graduation gift for Banks, her friends and classmates took to Twitter to make the hashtag "#EBOBMEETSBEYONCE" trend on Twitter. Banks' nickname is Ebob and her friends and classmates knew one of her biggest dreams was to talk to the "Halo" singer.

One of her friends, Karina Gutierrez, said during that time that Beyonce is one Banks' idols. Gutierrez added, "She admires her so much, so we're trying to put that on Twitter and Instagram to get Beyonce's attention," People reported

They did not say who contacted the soon-to-be mother-of-three regarding Banks' wish. Details regarding what they talked about during the call remained unknown. A video of the chat of Beyonce and Banks made rounds online but it only showed a portion of the conversation. Beyonce said "I love you" to the cancer-stricken teen during the FaceTime call after Banks told her the same words.

On Sunday evening, Banks' family and friends gathered for a candlelight vigil to remember her. Reports said the friends and family of Banks held candles up in the air with Beyonce's song, "Halo," in the background.

Meanwhile, Beyonce, who is expecting twins with her husband Jay Z, reportedly gained a lot of weight and she is not happy about it. Other reports claimed the singer wants her fans to see her pregnancy journey. She shared a number of photos on her Instagram account that showed her weight gain.

Sources close to Beyonce said the singer had a difficult time for her second pregnancy compared to her first. She had problems keeping up with the energy demanded by her work and by her eldest, five-year-old Blue Ivy. Due to this, she had to put all her commitments and projects, such as the Coachella performance this year, on hold, E! News shared.

The couple announced they were pregnant last February. Jay Z and Beyonce said they will have twins making their family grow to a number of five.
