Dad Wisdom From Ryan Reynolds: Here Are Some Of His Best Statements About Fatherhood

Ryan Reynolds earns his fan base as a movie star but the 40-year-old actor also earns a decent following of people who enjoy his dad wisdom. The father of two young girls, James and Ines, often shares his thoughts on fatherhood on his Twitter.

Reynolds talked about diaper disasters, sleep deprivation and airplane travel with children on the social media platform. Romper noted he has a "hilariously honest" look at parenting.

The most recent parenting quip that earned almost half a million likes was when he said something about Disneyland. "Went to Disneyland because my daughter's obsessed with Mickey Mouse," Reynolds wrote on Twitter. "She was so excited when I got home and told her."

Reynolds also shared a tip on self-care, which experts said was necessary so parents can recharge and take care of their family better. "Tip: It's important parents take little "time outs" for themselves too. Even if you feel pretty guilty when you return 14 years later," the actor wrote on Twitter.

Reynolds said his priorities changed when he became a father. Like most guys enjoying their youth, he used to focus on himself alone.

With two growing kids, the "Deadpool" star is both excited and apprehensive about being a daddy. "Now there's double the mistakes to make," he joked, adding he has a wonderful wife who makes up for his "shortcomings" as a father to his children, as per Heat World.

What he's learned about fatherhood so far is that it's all about instinct and patience. "I can comb a doll's hair for six hours and suddenly remember to blink," he told Harper's Bazaar.
