'Sherlock Season 4' Air Date, Cast, New Update: THIS BBC Series Villain Is More Dark-Hearted Than Moriarty? [SPOILERS]

"Sherlock" Season 4 promotion from the BBC has fans buzzing over new BBC baby Rosamund Mary Watson, which may make the new Season's villain a terrifying enemy to Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and John Watson (Martin Freeman). Certainly, Jim Moriarty (Andrew Scott) has been receiving huge buzz as a participant in Season 4. However, Toby Jones as Culverton Smith is apparently the more evil of the two.

This article contains spoilers for the BBC "Sherlock" series. Proceed only if willing to preview details on this Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman collaboration. The BBC's "Sherlock" is the creation of showrunners Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss and is a modern adaptation of novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

As The Telegraph reports, BBC finally revealed Rosamund Mary Watson as the new member of "Sherlock Season 4." courtesy of tv series parents Mary (Amanda Abbington) and John Watson. Her presence was first dropped in Season 3 Episode 3 ("The Sign Of Three"). New uncle Sherlock Holmes had been making a toast when he guessed that Mary Watson was in the early stages of pregnancy at her wedding to John.

Radio Times takes the cue from the congratulatory announcement in the Telegraph and rightly asks why Mrs. Hudson (Una Stubbs) and Molly (Louise Beal) mentioned that Sherlock Holmes barely helped with the greetings. Mostly because the series lead had been uncharacteristically attached to his phone. The media outlet asks if Culverton Smith has anything to do with Holmes' preoccupation.

Radio Times may have guessed right as Entertainment Weekly cites an interview with Martin Freeman where the BBC star described Culverton Smith. Comparing Toby Jones' villain with Jim Moriarty and Charles Magnussen (Lars Mikkelsen), Martin Freeman revealed that Culverton Smith is the most dark-hearted. According to Martin Freeman, Toby Jones' execution of Culverton Smith is so effective that the "Sherlock Season 4" villain makes Holmes' and John Watson's stomachs turn.

Incidentally, the title of the season finale - Episode 3 - has been revealed as "The Final Problem" and will be released in theaters as official Twitter account announces. The BBC will air "Sherlock Season 4" Episode 1 ("The Six Thatchers") on Jan 1, 2017. Are you ready to see if Rosamund Mary changes the dynamics in the show, particularly between Sherlock Holmes and John Watson?
