Netflix’s New Thriller ‘The OA’ To Explore the Mystery of Life & Death, Watch Trailer Here [VIDEO]

Netflix, the entertainment company responsible for TV hits such as "Stranger Things," and "Bloodline" has another thriller series to offer soon. This new series will be called "The OA" and viewers recently catch a glimpse of this upcoming thriller as Netflix just released its official trailer. "The OA" which is set to premiere on Dec. 16 will star Brit Marling (Prairie Johnson), Scott Wilson (Abel Johnson) and Emory Cohen (Homer).

According to Variety, this suspense drama will delve on the age-long mystery of life and death. The plot will revolve around a blind girl, Prairie who after disappearing for seven years will come home with a perfect vision.

Since Prairie will refuse to disclose the mystery of her disappearance, the story will center on what happened to her and what have she seen for all the years she is gone. "The OA" will surely deal with supernatural elements as hinted by its intriguing tagline which is "trust the unknown."


Before the unveiling of its trailer, Netflix first teases fans about this new scary series by posting several tweets that ask uncanny questions and brief teasers featuring a distressed woman as posted in Polygon. The tweets challenges the public with questions such as "have you seen the light" and "have you seen darkness.

Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij team up to write and direct "The OA" which will have eight one-hour episodes. The cast for this Netflix series also includes Phyllis Smith, Patrick Gibson, Alice Krige, and Brendan Meyer.
