‘Super Mario Run’ APK, Super Malware?

A caution to the public who are currently seeing APK downloads for 'Super Mario Run,' do not download the APK. "Super Mario Run" is only available for the IOS in the meantime and does not have any APK yet.

After breaking "Pokemon GO's"first-day download record, "Super Mario Run" has become more popular than ever. So popular that some websites are offering APK's for the android version that does not exist. VentureBeat featured one of these websites who's featuring such offers. KO Player was one these websites who are hosting an APK download for "Super Mario Run." The article also mentioned the risk of downloading apps from a third party source, wherein, hackers could insert a single code that could ruin the not only the device but the data as well.

 Nintendo is said to be using an online connection to authenticate the players and prevent piracy, but then again, codes are codes and hackers will be hackers and it will be a matter of time before someone cracks "Super Mario Run's" security features. Nintendo has yet to announce or test any android version of "Super Mario Run" so downloading an APK claiming to be something it is not, is pretty risky.  Patience is really going to be a virtue for Android users who are itching to play the game, with the popularity of "Super Mario Run" it won't be long before Nintendo decides to launch the Android version of the game.

 Downloading APK's from unknown sources could jeopardize not only the device but its contents as well. A good alternative way is to download similar games in the Play Store. Where there are plenty of choices of highly rated games using the same gaming principles in "Super Mario Run." As the saying goes "better safe than sorry," and in the smartphone world, sorry comes at a very expensive price.
