“Elementary” season 5 episode 9, titled “It Serves You Right to Suffer,” focuses on saving Shinwell (Nelsan Ellis). Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) and Watson (Lucy Liu) is at it again.
Since Shinwell’s arrival, the duo had already been through a lot of things for him, and something big is coming on their way, again. As the synopsis suggest, Sherlock and Watson only have three days to save Shinwell.
He’s framed as part of a gang killing. The detective duo needs to find the real murder before he’s sent back to jail, again.
For the viewers and fans of “Elementary,” saving an innocent person from getting into prison or finding the real murderer isn’t a new story. The difference now is the involvement of an individual who's been behind bars in the past, and they’re trying to help him to fight society’s stigma, Cartermatt reports.
Nonetheless, in the promo, it’s clear that Shinwell already knows he’ll still be convicted guilty because that’s how the world works. It’s dangerous for everyone and Watson isn’t an exception.
This episode clearly stirs the storyline on how Shinwell will cope with his situation and how Sherlock and Watson can help him. Will Sherlock help Watson again, this time?
This is an important question as it’s also another struggle that fans will see. How Sherlock will deal with Watson focusing on Shinwell, again? It can be recalled that Watson’s focus was shifted to him in “Elementary” season 5 episode 7 when he went to meet a former gang member.
