A hero dad shields three children from a gunman in a New York City car dealership. The children were safe. Unfortunately, the hero dad got shot in the thigh but is in safe condition.

Police are still investigating the incident and are starting to look for two suspects.

Last Monday, September 21, a father and his three children were sitting at the lobby of a car dealership in New York City. While the family was there, there were suddenly gunshots fired from behind the dad and his children.

The hero dad shields his three children. He immediately covered the kids and dove to the ground.

A short video has been shared by Daily Mail showing the heroic act of the father.

The video showed how the father scooped his kids to the floor so that he could protect his children from the bullets.

The video also showed that a man wearing a black hoodie fired the shots through an open glass door. Also, after a few seconds, a glass door shattered. While the gunman was still firing shots, the hero dad continues to shield his three children and crawled to safety.

The hero dad's condition

While the dad was trying to protect his children, he got shot in the thigh.

He was immediately brought to the Jacobi Medical Center and got his treatment.

According to police reports, the father of the three children in the video is now safe and is in stable condition.

The police investigation

Before the dad shields his three children from the shots, other customers were also seen in the video going around the car dealership area.

When the gunman started firing, all of them ran to take cover from the series of gunshots. Reports did not mention whether there were other people hurt in the incident.

After the shooting incident, the suspects even carjacked a vehicle. They carjacked a four-door green sedan. The vehicle was at a stop because of the red light when the suspects came close to the vehicle.

Reports disclosed that when the perpetrator approached the car, he opened the door and pointed a gun to the driver. The driver went out of the vehicle, and the suspects left the area.

Police investigators think that the incident is related to gang conflicts.

A news agency reported that the gunmen are from a rival gang of the group that was having a transaction at the car dealership.

It is not yet confirmed whether the hero dad was also targeted by the gunman.
