The parents and the grandmother of an eight-year-old boy have been charged with murder and torture after the child was found dead inside a cooler filled with ice in Lynwood last week.
The couple was identified as Destiny Luckie Harrison and Daniel Alberto Monzon, who are both 25 years old, and the latter's mother, Ana Carcamo Zarceno, who is 46 years old. The three of them have been charged with murder, torture, and child abuse resulting in death, with allegations that they caused willful harm resulting in death.
Boy Found Dead Inside an Ice Cooler
In a news release on Friday, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said that the horrific abuse that the young boy, Isaiah, suffered was made even worse by the fact that it was done by people who were supposed to love and protect him instead of hurt him.
Hochman added that his office was committed to ensuring that the people who are responsible for the crime are held fully accountable for their actions. The statement comes after the young boy's body was discovered following sheriff's deputies being dispatched to an apartment in Lynwood, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said that at around 8:30 p.m., deputies from the Century Station in Lynwood were contacted by an individual who gave them information regarding a deceased child in an apartment, which was located in the 3100 block of Euclid Avenue.
When deputies went to conduct a welfare check at the home in question, they found the eight-year-old boy's body placed in a cooler with ice. Investigators then arrested Harrison on suspicion of murder and took Monzon and Zarceno into custody on suspicion of conspiracy.
Parents and Grandmother Charged With Murder and Torture
If the defendants are convicted as charged, they all face 32 years to life in prison for the death of Isaiah. Authorities are also asking the public for any information that could prove useful to the investigation of the case, Inquirer reported.
The criminal complaint in the case alleged that the eight-year-old boy was tortured on or between Apr. 1, 2024, and Oct. 24, 2025. It added that the victim was believed to have been abused and murdered on or between Oct. 23 and Oct. 24.
When officials arrested the suspects at the apartment in Lynwood, they also discovered three other children, who were 16, 14, and nine months old. They have since been placed into protective custody by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, as per ABC7.
