PlayStation 4 News & Update: Unlocking 3 Secret PS4 Features That Only Power Users Know

Since its release in 2013, the PlayStation 4 has become the most favored game console for power users. The device is not just for gaming, as it is packed with features that make it a total entertainment system. There are also some hidden secrets to the console that make gaming experience more unique.

Do you have any idea what these are? Here are three ways to unlock some of the secret features of the PS4:

1. Use Your Smartphone As A PlayStation 4 Controller

Everyone is savvy with the smartphones these days, so this secret will be handy to learn. To do this, you will have to get the PlayStation App for mobiles. It is both available for Android and iOS users. Once you have the app, you have to setup your phone and PS4's connection. Fiddle with the settings of the PS4 under the "PlayStation App Connect" and simply add the device.

Then, match the code you get and input this on your phone. If successfully synced, you can now use your mobile on your PS4 anytime. This includes typing on the screen, which is quite hard to do if you don't have a special keyboard.

2. Extend The Battery Life Of Your PlayStation 4 Controller

Dim down the blue lights of your PS4 controller because that eats up a lot of battery power. To do this, press down the home button in the middle of the controller from which the quick menu should pop.

Then look for "Adjust Sound and Devices" and then find the fix for changing brightness. There should be three options with bright as the standard, per Push Square. Choose "dim" to save on battery life.

3. Access Your PlayStation 4 Remotely Via Computer

Digital Trend reports that Remotely Play has been added to the PlayStation 4 patch update in early April and not a lot of people are aware of this. In case you missed this, you can still download the patch via the official site.

To set it up, go to settings and then find "Remote Play Connection." Attach the PS4 controller into any computer via a USB cable and then activate this. It should be ready for the next time you'll want to use the computer as a PlayStation 4.  Here's how it should look like:
