Dad Arrested After Getting Drunk With His 3-Year-Old Toddler

A 20-year-old father from Georgia was arrested after he and his toddler were found drunk. The local authorities took the father and the child to the hospital after the three-year-old toddler smelled like alcohol.

Marcus Allen, a father from Georgia was looking after his three-year-old toddler at home. Authorities were alarmed after one of his relatives found him passed out from drinking. To make matters worse, the toddler seem drunk while he smells strongly of alcohol.

According to WXIA, the local police narrated that Marcus Allen was drinking a fruity mixed drink cocktail. He passed out halfway through his drink and the toddler finished the drink for him. Both the father and the toddler were taken to the hospital. The toddler had blood alcohol content twice the legal driving limit for adults.

NBC added that upon arriving at the hospital, Marcus Allen decided to flee but the cops were able to arrest him. He was arrested and is now facing several charges. He was charged with a felony count of cruelty to children, counts of reckless conduct and obstruction. He was also charged with underage alcohol consumption of alcohol.

"I think it could have been a lot worse had they not come home when they did," Gainesville Police Deputy Chief Jay Parrish said. "Had the child ingested more alcohol, it could have been fatal. I think it just goes to show that to parent and raise a child, we have to be highly vigilant at all times, and have to put the children first and our behavior second, for their well-being," Parrish said

The three-year-old is already recovering and was placed in his mother's care according to Georgia Division of Family and Child Services.  Marcus Allen is held in Hall County Jail with no bond on the child cruelty case.
