‘Stranger Things’ Season 2 Air Date, News & Update: Netflix Hit To Continue As Anthology Series? Is Eleven Alive?

"Stranger Things" Season 2 can't come soon enough for fans of the Netflix series, which stars Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler). Recent news says Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is alive and if Netflix does commit to "Stranger Things" Season 2, would the hit show by creators Matt and Ross Duffer be an anthology series?

One of the attractions of "Stranger Things" is the depiction of its lead as an uncertain hero figure. The Daily Beast cites David Harbour on how Jim Hopper evolved in "Stranger Things" Season 1.

David Harbour described audience response to Jim Hopper at the beginning of "Stranger Things" Season 1 as one of dislike. According to David Harbour Jim Hopper was, in fact, a reminder for "Stranger Things" viewers that people are often the way they are, especially those that tend to be difficult, for reasons that not many see or know.

In a way, according to David Harbour, Jim Hopper had to earn the love of the audience as "Stranger Things" Season 1 unfolded. What gave David Harbor confidence in Jim Hopper is how "Stranger Things" eventually gave the character opportunities to redeem himself.

Quite importantly, David Harbour told The Daily Beast of his confidence that "Stranger Things" Season 2 will happen. As far as David Harbour is concerned, he'd be happy to see how Jim Hopper carries on in "Stranger Things" Season 2.

However, Wired cites Peter Rubin of the "Geek's Guide to the Galaxy" podcast as he interestingly says that "Stranger Things" would do well as an anthology. " There were so many cinematic and sociological influences that I think it could very well be that American Crime Story model, where each season you get this fast, propulsive, satisfying, eight-episode joy ride through one of those facets of the '80s," Peter Rubin says of a future "Stranger Things."

Continuing on a hopeful note, David Harbour says "Stranger Things" did not completely eliminate Eleven. Noting that Jim Hopper knows more than he lets on, "Stranger Things" fans may find the possibility that Eleven is alive closer to the truth.

Netflix released its original series "Stranger Things" (Season 1) on July 15, 2016. Would you like to see "Stranger Things" Season 2 as an anthology or would you like the original Netflix series to continue with a linear story-telling?
