'Supergirl' Season 2 Spoilers & News: NPH Is Villain In 'The Flash' Musical Crossover? Superman Sparks Alex Danvers Jealousy

A musical crossover between "Supergirl" and "The Flash" is definitely coming on The CW. Show creator Greg Berlanti hints that they are already planning what songs to feature in the episode and what the storyline will be. Meanwhile, Alex Danvers is supposedly going to be jealous of Clark Kent/Superman, who is finally coming to visit his cousin, Kara/Supergirl. How tense will this family reunion be on "Supergirl"?

Greg Berlanti, who is the creator for both "Supergirl" and "The Flash" on The CW, confirmed that they will begin working with the planned musical crossover episode in the coming weeks. First agenda on board is to get music clearing.

"I have a few ideas for tone and style in my head but we're just starting to talk about what that can be," said Berlanti via Indie Wire. He also revealed that there might be an original song in the "Supergirl" and "The Flash" musical crossover.

Blastr reports that Joss Whedon is being eyed to direct the episode of the "Supergirl" and "The Flash" crossover, which will be airing in early 2017. The news outlet also hints that Neil Patrick Harris could become the villain of this episode as the Music Meister. The actor is already familiar with the character, having provided the voice for this in the "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" animated show.

Meanwhile, before the anticipated musical crossover happens between "Supergirl" and "The Flash," these shows have yet to actually premiere its new seasons this October on The CW. One of the things that viewers are eager to see is the appearance of Clark Kent/Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) on "Supergirl" for the first time. However, Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) will supposedly resent the character's impact on Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist).

Though Clark is Kara's flesh and blood, he has not been there for Supergirl as much as Alex has. "Kara is so excited to see Clark and so excited to be with him, it's almost a little bit like Alex feels taken for granted, because she's the family member who's put in the time," said "Supergirl" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, per Entertainment Weekly.

Watch how this plays out in the first and second episodes of "Supergirl" when it returns. Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Monday, Oct. 10 at 10 p.m. Keep track of the show's updates here on Parent Herald.
