'Making A Murderer' Season 2 News & Updates: Steven Avery Engaged To 'Murder Groupie'? Kathleen Zellner Says Convict 'Very Much In Love'

"Making a Murderer" subject Steven Avery shocked the public when it was announced that he has proposed to his girlfriend Lynn Hartman. The couple has only met once, but his lawyer says that Steven Avery is "very much in love." However, Sharon Osbourne doesn't believe in the relationship and called Hartman a "murder groupie."

On her chat series "The Talk," Sharon Osbourne couldn't sit through as details about the engagement of the "Making a Murderer" subject to his girlfriend was being discussed. She can't feel happy for the romance. "They are murder groupies," said the TV host, Mirror reports.

Though the "Making a Murderer" suspect has been in prison since 2005 -- thus, has no means to go out and date women -- he and Lynn Hartman fell in love through letters and phone calls. People reports that they have been "dating" for the last eight months.

Lynn Hartman visited Steven Avery for the first time last week and that's when he proposed and she accepted. "She treats me decent, she loves me - she's kind of spoiling me right now," the "Making a Murderer" subject said, per Daily Mail.

Now that they are engaged, the public might be wondering when and how the "Making a Murderer" couple will exactly get married. Elle UK reports that Lynn Hartman wants to have the wedding when her man is released from prison. Steven Avery is appealing his conviction with the help of his new lawyer.

"Making a Murderer's" Steven Avery was incarcerated in 2005 for the murder of Teresa Halbach. However, he has recently hired Kathleen Zellner to review his case as a potential wrongful conviction. Reports say that Steven Avery's chances for release is growing, especially after the conviction of his co-accused, Brendan Dassey, has been overturned.

These events and the rest of what has been happening to Steven Avery since will be tackled in "Making a Murderer" Season 2. Netflix has not yet announced the official date of release. Stay tuned!
