‘God Of War’ 4 PS4 Surprise For ‘GoW’ Fans? New Kratos Game Was Almost Set In Egypt?

"God Of War" 4 from Sony Santa Monica and creative game director Cory Barlog has the best surprise for Kratos' fans. Cory Barlog and the team at Sony Santa Monica are hard at work to bring Kratos into the new Norse map and gameplay of "God Of War" 4.

The Express reports that "God Of War" 4 has the best news for PlayStation 4 users. Scheduled as an exclusive for PlayStation, "God Of War" 4 does not require an upgrade to PlayStation 4 Pro.

According to Cory Barlog, "God Of War" 4 runs on the standard PlayStation 4. The demo of "God Of War 4" at E3 2016, in fact, used the standard PlayStation 4.

Cory Barlog revealed that "God Of War" 4 is designed for PlayStation 4. Players don't need to move up to PlayStation 4 Pro to be able to play "God Of War" 4.

To be sure, quite a few changes will be effected by Sony Santa Monica and Cory Barlog in the new "God Of War." The Express cites, however, that "GoW" fans will still encounter classics from the older iterations in "God Of War" 4.

Interestingly, Sony Santa Monica and Cory Barlog almost gave "God Of War" 4 a different setting. According to Cory Barlog initial plans to move "GoW" from Greek mythology almost took Kratos to Ancient Egypt in the new "God Of War."

As an aside, a number of fans in fact expressed interest in seeing Sony take "God Of War" to Ancient Egypt. However, Cory Barlog said that he and the team at Sony Santa Monica eventually decided that Norse mythology was the best next step in Kratos' journey.

Parent Herald cites reports that the intention by Sony Santa Monica and Cory Barlog in taking Kratos into his new "GoW" setting is to give the journey a time jump. Following the time that lapsed after the previous "God Of War," Kratos is meant to return as an older man, struggling to change his ways for the sake of his new son.
