'The Good Wife Spinoff' Cast News: Diane Lockhart's Biggest Rival Cast; Chris Noth 'Happy' To Join New Show

"The Good Wife" spinoff series on CBS All Access has cast Diane Lockhart's (Christine Baranski) biggest rival. Delroy Lindo is joining the show as a series regular who will play the character Robert Boseman. Meanwhile, Chris Noth, who played Gov. Peter Florrick in the original series, said he'd be "happy" to join the spinoff and reprise his role.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Delroy Lindo as Robert Boseman is going to come after Diane Lockhart's associates and clients. "Boseman is a character who dominates every scene, intimidates every lawyer, and is beloved by every client," Robert and Michelle King, the showrunners of "The Good Wife" spinoff said in describing the new character.

In "The Good Wife" spinoff, Diane Lockhart comes into financial trouble one year after the end of the original series. She moves to Chicago to join Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) to save her career.

Deadline reports that it will be Lockhart's goddaughter who would be responsible for the esteemed lawyer's recent problems. The niece will be played by "Game of Thrones" star Rose Leslie.

The actress will also be a series regular on "The Good Wife" spinoff. "We needed a young actress who could hold her own with Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo, and Rose is perfect," the showrunners said of Leslie's addition.

Meanwhile, fans of "The Good Wife" expect that former characters from the original show would be gracing the spinoff series at some point. Several actors have already expressed willingness to reprise their roles and the latest is Chris Noth.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Chris Noth revealed he's willing to be in "a couple of episodes" of "The Good Wife" spinoff. Just like the fans of the original series, the actor is curious as to how his character ended up. "He finished the series just like he started it, by saying he wasn't guilty," Chris Noth said.

"The Good Wife" spinoff series, which still has no confirmed title, is launching on CBS All Access in February 2017. It will have 13 episodes for the first season. Keep checking back to this site for the updates about the show.
