‘Marco Polo’ Season 3 Air Date, News & Update: Netflix Series On Intense Kublai Khan, Prester John Action? Winter 2017 Release For S3?

"Marco Polo" Season 3 from Netflix and creator John Fusco will up the game when Marco Polo (Lorenzo Richelmy) and Kublai Khan (Benendict Wong) come face to face with new villain Prester John. Fresh off a victory for "Marco Polo" Season 2, S3 is anticipated to give the Netflix series an even stronger ranking.

As Digital Journal reports "Marco Polo" Season 2 had been a dark season for the characters of Lorenzo Richelmy and Benedict Wong. According to Lorenzo Richelmy, Season 2 dug into each of the characters and explored the dark side in each one.

However, their reestablished sense of self should propel the Netflix characters onto the more challenging "Marco Polo" Season 3. Kublai Khan will need Empress Chabi (Joan Chen) who, as Screen Rant points out, displayed a strength of which the Mongol leader had not been aware.

This will prove invaluable because, as Screen Rant reports, "Marco Polo" Season 3 will pit Kublai Khan and Marco against a figure of legends - Prester John. Accounts say that Prester John, himself, has a kingdom and is somewhat of a mythical Indiana Jones of the Crusaders.

The presence of Prester John in the Netflix series was first foreshadowed in a conversation among Pope Gregory X (Gabriel Byrne), Niccolo Polo (Pierfrancesco Favino) and Nayan (Ron Yuan). As Screen Rant points out, Prester John versus Kublai Khan and Marco Polo spells an exciting Season 3.

"Marco Polo" Season 3 will also deal with the unfinished business of Kokachin's (Zhu Zhu) death. By the time "Marco Polo" Season 2 ended with "The Fellowship," Kokachin was gone - a suicide borne of madness instigated by Empress Chabi.

When "Marco Polo" Season 3 returns, Marco and Prince Jingim (Remy Hii) are yet to find out about the tragic end of Kokachin. Netflix is anticipated to release "Marco Polo" Season 3 by the winter of 2017.
