'The Good Fight' Season 1 Cast News & Updates: Archie Panjabi Talks Kalinda's Return, 'The Good Wife' Spinoff Adds 2 Alums

Nearly every supporting cast from "The Good Wife" is returning for the sequel, "The Good Fight," on CBS All Access. But viewers are eager to find out if Archie Panjabi, who played the investigator Kalinda in the original series, is coming aboard as well.

With production for "The Good Fight" already starting in New York, casting announcements have slowly been trickling down in the news. Archie Panjabi, however, said that she hasn't been asked to return just yet.

"I mean, right now, probably not because I'm working [on Blindspot]," the actress told Entertainment Tonight. "But if there's anything I've learned in this business, you never know what's gonna happen," she further said.

It's no secret that Archie Panjabi left "The Good Wife" after the sixth season because of an alleged feud with the show's star Julianna Margulies. She also felt that the producers sided with the star. Vanity Fair cites that the producers, who are also working on "The Good Fight" currently, took a jab at her in one of the episodes of the final season. They denied that this was the case.

In the likelihood that she does get to be asked to appear on "The Good Fight," filming schedules shouldn't be a problem. Archie Panjabi's new show is filming in the same state as "The Good Wife" sequel, and thus a cameo could be easily arranged.

Meanwhile, "The Good Wife" alums Zach Grenier and Jerry Adler are going to be in "The Good Fight." They will be reprising their roles as Diane Lockhart's (Christine Baranski) former law firm partners, David Lee and Howard Lyman.

The two will appear in the "The Good Fight" pilot's episode as guests, Deadline reports. The premise of the show will deal with Diane Lockhart bailing out of her established law firm in New York to start all over in Chicago. Earlier, production also announced Diane Lockhart's husband Kurt McVeigh, played by Gary Cole, will be joining "The Good Fight" as well.

"The Good Fight" will be streaming on CBS All Access with confirmed 10 episodes only. Its debut will be in February 2017.
