'The Originals' Season 4 Air Date Latest News & Update: Joseph Morgan, Phoebe Tonkin Onboard Till 2019? EP Hints New ‘TVD’ Spinoff?

"The Originals" Season 4 stars Joseph Morgan (Klaus Mikaelson) and Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley Marshall) will remain onboard in The CW series until, at least 2019. While "The Originals" casting is anticipated to be affected by "The Vampire Diaries" cancellation, executive producer Julie Plec hinted that a new spinoff may be coming.

In a conversation with Digital Spy, Julie Plec confirmed that the migration of "The Vampire Diaries" characters onto "The Originals" is a concrete plan. As illustration, Julie Plec said one "The Vampire Diaries" character was supposed to be killed off in Season 8 but was kept alive for "The Originals" migration.

  in a surprising twist, Julie Plec also revealed that "The Vampire Diaries" may have another spinoff aside from "The Originals." "If something organically appears to my creative brain that feels like it could work, I would absolutely do that," Julie Plec revealed.

"The Vampire Diaries" spinoff may take a few characters away from "The Originals" as it would from "TVD," as Julie Plec highlighted that this universe has plenty of potentials. More importantly, however, Joseph Morgan and Phoebe Tonkin as Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall will not have to see major deaths in "The Originals" Season 4, given the coming "The Vampire Diaries" migrations to New Orleans.

Incidentally, Julie Plec gave a response to speculations that cancellation is coming after "The Originals" Season 4. Julie Plec effectively promised that Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall will, at the very least, have two more years after "The Originals" Season 4.

As an assurance, Julie Plec promised commitment to keep "The Originals" around for as long as possible. As it is, Parent Herald cites that executive producer Michael Narducci revealed Klaus Mikaelson still has a long way to go on the road to redemption.

Joseph Morgan himself promised that Klaus Mikaelson should be feared in "The Originals" Season 4. The CW will air "The Originals" Season 4 at midseason in 2017 with the firm premiere date yet to be announced.
