Kate Gosselin Vs. Jon Gosselin: 'Kate Plus 8' Star Defends Her Parenting Decision Despite Ex-Husband's Accusations

"Kate Plus 8" star Kate Gosselin is defending herself against ex-husband Jon Gosselin. The ex-couple, who divorced in 2009, are once again at the center of a controversy as a new season of the reality TV show premieres on TLC.

Kate Gosselin revealed that she was criticized by Jon Gosselin for her decision to send their 12-year-old son Colin Gosselin to live in a treatment facility since August. The boy has been diagnosed with special needs but the "Kate Plus 8" reality TV mom believes sending him away will help Colin.

The "Kate Plus 8" star told ABC News that Colin's case was a hard choice for her as a parent but she needed to heed to what the boy's doctor advised. "It had to happen," she said.

"He needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things," Kate Gosselin told People, while not revealing her son's condition or the location of the facility. Part of Jon Gosselin's complaint was that Kate Gosselin won't also tell him Colin's whereabouts. He has not seen the boy for over a year and a half.

Jon Gosselin's lawyers are saying that Kate Gosselin is not being truthful about Colin's case. But the "Kate Plus 8" mom said that she's not supposed to talk about the details of the children's care, as per court orders. Jon Gosselin has only partial custody while she has full legal custody of twins Cara and Mady 16, and sextuplets Aaden, Colin, Alexis, Hannah, Joel and Leah, 12.

Fox News reported that Jon Gosselin received information from law enforcement that Colin apparently told facility carers that his mother was abusive towards him. Thus, the Gosselin dad is bringing Kate Gosselin to court to finally settle this matter with Colin. Kate Gosselin defends that the child abuse claims are unfounded, E! Online reported.

"Kate Plus 8" Season 5 returns on the air this Tuesday, Nov. 22. Watch the teaser to the new episodes below.
