'American Music Awards' Co-Host Gigi Hadid Slammed For Melania Trump Impression

Gigi Hadid 's exaggerated efforts in imitating the incoming First Lady, Melania Trump is unfair and disrespectful to some. She made fun of her distinct accent and doll-like features particularly the blinking of the eyes, pouting lips and her whole being.

Melania Trump's almost similar victory speech supporting her husband's presidency that has allegedly plagiarized outgoing First Lady, Michelle Obama's speech - when it was her time during her husband's assuming the highest post in the land prompted the joke but was criticized heavily on social media.

The incident should give a lesson to Gigi Hadid to stay away from political jokes for the time being. She co-hosted Sunday night's "American Music Awards" and created a stir after impersonating Melania Trump. "I love my husband, President Barack Obama" as she pokes fun at Trump's RNC speech. Many laughed from the audience but more on bashing through social media, according to CNN 

"Saturday Night Live" alum Jay Pharoah, also poked fun at President-elect Donald while talking about Bruno Mars. Gigi Hadid had apologized for the impersonation and said that she only has best wishes for our country, in a handwritten note shared via Twitter.

Hadid reiterated in her note that she was honored to co-host the "American Music Awards" that night and happy to work with its renowned writers. She has deliberately removed some lines to make it more appropriate but some so not recognize it, to please know that it was done to be humorous and no bad intention at all.

Hadid sincerely believes that the First Lady will be understanding enough to be and that, she will take the joke lightly knowing show business. Some comments from social media include; the joke was tasteless and why not make fun of the president instead, as per The Wrap.
