'Amazon Echo' News And Updates: Project Amazon Knight Has Been Confirmed As An Upgrade; Hundreds Of New Commands To Come For Alexa

Amazon is reportedly working on a new version of the current "Amazon Echo" called the Amazon Knight. The Amazon Knight will feature a voice-activated device with a 7-inch touchscreen.

The MStars News uncovered the news about the upcoming version of the "Amazon Echo" in which the Amazon Lab126 is currently working on. Though still unconfirmed, the 7-inch touchscreen panel is reportedly included on the project Amazon Knight.

The new Amazon Knight will also feature the Alexa Digital Assistant as the "Amazon Echo" has it already. With this, it's no surprise that the device will be using the latest Amazon Fire OS in order to sync with Alexa.

On the other news, Amazon announced that they will be installing new commands for the "Amazon Echo" voice assistant. Alexa is about to be upgraded with hundreds of new commands, as per the 1Red Drop reported.

Currently, Alexa can handle 15 commands for the "Amazon Echo" on its default Alexa Skills Kit. Amazon plans to release the new commands for Alexa within the next couple of weeks, which will definitely add up several new types of commands.

In a report held by the Recombu, the "Amazon Echo" will feature a speaker equipped with very unique features. Featuring a 360-degree speaker, a built-in 7 wrapped-around microphones and the interactive Alexa Digital Assistant, the "Amazon Echo" is truly a new high-tech gadget.

Music from the Amazon Playlist can be played by voice command using this device. The "Amazon Echo" is said to be a perfect gadget that it can even provide weather and traffic reports along with the latest news available.

Upon interacting with the "Amazon Echo," users need to call Alexa in order for her to determine that the command is for her. With this feature, Alexa won't bother listening to any types of commands that is not addressed to her.

"Amazon Echo" is can be connected to the internet using its built-in Wi-Fi connection, so users can play music via the internet. The device can also be controlled with smartphones or tablets via Bluetooth connection.

The "Amazon Echo" is now available in the UK for £149 and will be available worldwide in the first quarter of 2017. The device will be competing against the Google Home as several consumers also expect the launch of the Amazon Knight upgrade.
