PlayStation 4, Xbox One Price Drop: Each Console Selling for $250 Within Limited Period

Shopping for Christmas gifts? The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are currently available at much lower prices than usual. Each of the two popular gaming consoles sells for $250, their price during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and it will be good only for a limited period.

The $250 includes console bundles, which means the PlayStation 4 Uncharted 4 Slim or Xbox One S system will come with at least one game, GameSpot reports. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are being sold at a discounted price in all major retailers in the US, and so it wouldn't be hard for anyone to find them.

One such retailer is Best Buy, which began selling the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for $249 on December 11. BGR notes that while bundles of either console with a capacity of 500GB will sell at that price in the next few weeks, versions with more storage will be more expensive.

Sony had said it is selling the PS4 at a discounted rate again following successful sales of the console during the Black Friday weekend. PS4 sales during BlackFriday were said to have been the most successful in PlayStation's history, according to GameSpot.

Microsoft's decision to cut the price of the Xbox One by $50 followed Sony's deal for the PlayStation 4. The two consoles are competing for dominance of the gaming market.

Although the Xbox One was the number one console in the US and UK for several months in 2016, there are rumors the PlayStation 4 beat it in November. The official report, however, has yet to be released.

While the PlayStation 4 deal will be until December 24, there is no date specified for when the Xbox One promo will end. The Xbox site only says the discounted price is a "limited time offer."
