How To Be Hundred Percent Sure Of Pregnancy Sign, Experts Explained The State Of Six-Weeks Into Pregnancy

Experts have described what it is meant to be six-weeks pregnant after Ohio policymakers just lately approved a bill named "Heartbeat Bill," that forbids abortions in the state of Ohio from the very moment a heartbeat of life can be distinguished which typically happens during the sixth week of pregnancy. However, in some pregnancies, a sign of heartbeat can be detected as early as four or five weeks. To erase this confusion, experts have to say something.

In the Thursday, Dec. 8, edition of the SELF, writer Lindsay Lanquist posted a report focusing on experts who shared their ideas on being six-week pregnant. Here's what they said:

Six-week pregnant means two weeks pregnant after the last period. Pregnancy is measured by doctors regarding weeks from the moment the mother had her last period. Juana Cuevas, an ob/gyne in Every Woman Wellness, said that six-week pregnancy is not an extended period, particularly considering that most women with regular menstrual period do not even know if they are pregnant till after they have missed their period. It is during around five or six weeks that women realize they're pregnant.

During the sixth week of pregnancy, mom's body should have experienced few slight changes. It is during the sixth week of pregnancy that a woman's body might feel nauseated or bloated and might begin facing morning sickness. Experts said this is because the woman's hormones are altering. When a pregnancy has reached to six weeks, the ovarian tissue of a mom produces progesterone, a hormone that regulates and maintains pregnancy.

Pregnancy may not be even realized till the sixth week. This is due to implantation bleeding, commonly mistaken as a menstrual period. Two weeks after the last period, the body of a woman releases the egg cell which becomes fertilized after few days and then implanted into the uterus after another few days. Some women will experience implantation bleeding and can be regarded mistakenly as a menstrual period, though it is not the exact thing. Thus experts said it is possible for a woman not even to know that she's pregnant until her second time missed a period.

Lastly, experts said prenatal testing for abnormalities is not available till pregnancy has reached ten weeks. The anomalies include fatal newborn conditions such as microcephaly or diseases which kill the infants soon after birth.

In the newly passed bill called "Heartbeat Bill," women who do not know they are pregnant till after their six-week sign will not be provided a window at all. However, when a woman decides to get abortions, experts said she must have access to quality healthcare in her place.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported that in 2013, 664,435 legal induced abortions were reported to them from 49 reporting areas. The report also noted that women in their twenties were reported for the majority of abortions in 2013 and all over the period of the study.
