‘Pokemon GO’ News & Updates: Niantic Labs Has Released New Creatures into the Wild; By Hatching Eggs First? Special Holiday-Themed Pikachu Available?

Last Monday, Niantic Labs announced that they are releasing new creatures for the hit "Pokemon GO" game. Another update fans will get excited about is the addition of a special holiday-themed Pikachu.

Niantic Labs previously set the date of the rollout for the update of "Pokemon GO" on Dec. 12. Togepi, Pichu, and other Pokemon will be available for the Gen 2. The only way to get the newly released creatures is by hatching eggs.

According to The "Pokémon GO" team post: "Starting later today, Trainers will have the opportunity to hatch these and several other Pokémon that were originally discovered in the Johto Region in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games. These are the first of more Pokémon coming to Pokémon GO over the next few months." There will be a total number of 251 Pokemon, with the inclusion of the 99 added Pokemon.

Meanwhile, SFGate reported that Niantic is in partnership with Sprint, according to the company's announcement. This partnership will mean that more than 10,000 Sprint locations will be turned into Gyms and PokeStops.

Business Insider reported that a limited edition Pikachu will be available beginning today until Dec. 29 at 10AM PST. In celebration of the holiday season, the limited edition Pikachu will be wearing a festive hat. In order to spot these rare Pikachu, players need to use the AR function of "Pokemon GO."

This month is indeed more fun for Pokemon hunters as Niantic Labs promises to roll out more of "Pokemon GO" Gen 2. For now, players get to hatch eggs in order to get more Pokemon.
