Unknown Child's Letter To Dead Father For Christmas Sends Community Searching For Him; Will You Help By Sharing This?

A man from Scotland found a letter written by a still unnamed child addressed to a dead father. It talked about the child's sadness over missing school since the child is apparently already in foster care. The letter also revealed what the child wanted for Christmas from the departed dad.

Stuart McColl found the letter that also featured scribbles of hearts but it was unsigned. It was rolled and attached to a balloon when McColl found it in a private field somewhere in Dunfermline.

"This was just too sad to ignore," McColl wrote in his appeal to Facebook to find the mystery letter writer. "It would be great to do something to help this person who is having such a tough time," he added.

In the letter, which many assumed to be written by a boy, the child told his dead father that since his mother is sick, he's been into foster care. "I really miss school and you. I know are up in heaven but are you safe?" the boy wrote.

He also came up with a list of gifts he wanted for Christmas. Among it, a pair of boots and a Real Madrid kit. But he's ultimate dream is for his dead father to write him a letter to put under his pillow.

Residents of Dunfermline are now looking for the child and some have expressed willingness to give him the gifts on the list, according to the Dunfermline Press. "It really is the dream to find the person who wrote this note," McColl told the news outlet.

The man is hoping that by sharing this story, they will be able to find the letter writer. Though it won't bring the child's father back to life, it will make his holiday a lot more meaningful and less tragic knowing there are kind strangers who care enough for him to have a happy Christmas.
