‘The Edge Of Seventeen’ Star Hailee Steinfeld Golden Globe Nomination; What's Next For Her?

Hailee Steinfeld received a Golden Globe nomination for “The Edge of Seventeen” as a belated birthday gift. The nomination also comes from the fact that when Hailee read the script, she already knew that the was for her.

First stop, she knew about the nomination when she was on her way to Los Angeles. She added that it was an “honest interpretation” of how a teenager feels today. It’s how teenagers feel as they are greatly influenced with social media.

The “coming-of-age” film is a reflection of every teenagere’s experiences. It does not only focus on humor, but it also touches the heavy issues teenages undergo, CBS News reports.

“The Edge of Seventeen” stars tapped her quest for answers to bring authenticity in the film. Hailee added that she’s lucky to not feel alone, however, her character felt that and she had to tap this side of her. Curiosity is something that every teenager has and that was what the star put first for the film.

Many teenagers can relate to the film and Hailee is honored to represent them and send a message in the big screen. With the film, Hailee added that she felt she developed a strong connection with her generation that will definitely leave a mark in her life, Deadline reports.

Hailee, aside from acting, is also on tour. Though these experiences had molded her, she admits that she had and still has social issues. “I think you do throughout your life” as “The Edge of Seventeen” star puts it.

As of the moment, Hailee still wants to make more films similar with “The edge of Seventeen” as she could easily connect with people. However, she also wants to continue making music; she wants to work the two crafts.
