‘Harry Potter’ News And Updates: Here’s How 2016 Unfolded For J. K. Rowling And The Potterheads

The “Harry Potter” series is one of the most successful books and film franchise which was supposed to end in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” Fortunately, J. K Rowling made 2016 a memorable year for all the Potterheads, here’s why.

First, J. K Rowling always tells the Potterheads something new about the “Harry Potter” universe through Twitter and Pottermore. Unfortunately, in real life, Alan Rickman’s death broke the hearts of everyone on Jan. 14, 2016.

The script of the “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” was released and along with the announcement of the script’s publication. In July 2016, Rowling published the original script of the “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.”

Currently, “The Cursed Child” plays at the Palace Theatre, in London. In brief, the play is considered the eighth installment of the “Harry Potter” series, Harry Potter The Play states.

After the play, J. K. Rowling announced that the Potter series is done. Clearly, it all broke all the Potterheads hearts, but we all know this is just something to prepare all fans for something bigger.

On March 2016, the “History of Magic in North America” was released in Pottermore. It became the center of the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to find Them” film which was released on Nov. 17, 2016.

“Fantastic Beasts” was one of the most anticipated films of the year. It even went bigger as Rowling announced that there would be a total of five films for the new franchise. Everyone became even more excited when the “Pirates of the Caribbean” lead actor Johnny Depp joined the film as the villain.

Also, through Twitter, Rowling revealed that Remus Lupin had to die instead of Arthur Weasley; Ron and Hermione weren’t meant to be a couple; and that Albus Dumbledore is gay, as reported by MTV.
