Fans of 'Star Citizen' will get a chance to preview its newest patch that is soon to be released anytime. Included in the Alpha 2.6 patch is the Star Marine module, the long-awaited first-person shooter gameplay.

The 'Star Marine' module has been delayed for years as Roberts Space Industries encountered technical and gameplay problems. Game developer CEO Chris Roberts says that the new module sets the foundation for other upcoming 'Star Citizen' features that will be released in the coming months.

According to IGN, the new features that will be available is already evident in the newest trailer. The developer also announced that environmental effects such as depressurization. Other features will also include limb damage animations and other body motions.

There's no specific launch date yet regarding when the update will be released, but there's good news to 'Star Citizen' fans as the developer announced that it is giving a sneak peek of the Alpha 2.6 patch. The TPU is available for 48 hours for registered players to experience the Alpha 2.6 patch and its newest 'Star Marine' FPS mode. Fans need to register first and create an account in the 'Star Citizen' website by using the code WELCOME2SC. A notification for when the trial begins will be sent to registered players via email.

Apparently, 'Star Citizen' is not affected by the recent closure of the Crytek studio developer. Engadget reported that. It is reported that Crytek is closing its offices and laying off employees due to delayed paychecks. In Crytek's press release, it emphasized that CryEngine, a toolset where 'Star Citizen' is built on, will continue to be in the company's core strategy as it undergoes company restructuring.

David Swofford, Roberts Space Industries' communications director, assured its fans that Crytek issue won't affect the development of 'Star Citizen'. With the upcoming Alpha 2.6 patch, it seems that it is most likely true.
